Balnamoil, Kintyre

Renovation of a derelict cottage situated on the rocky south west face of the Mull of Kintyre, close to the lighthouse and 150metres above the sea. The light is truly spectacular as it reflects off the ever changing seascape below.

The existing cottage gives the historical and visual anchor in the landscape whilst the new extension brims with light and views over the Irish seaboard and round to Islay to the northwest. The main living spaces are in the extension with the bedrooms being in the existing building giving a feeling of security against the remarkable exposure.
